Celeste Cortesi Opens Up in New Docuseries Chronicling Life Beyond Pageantry

Celeste Cortesi has spent the past year sharing her most private moments on camera, culminating in the public premiere of her docuseries "Celeste Unscripted" on August 3 at Greenbelt Cinema 4 in Makati City. The event, hosted by Manila-based Goat Creative Studios to mark its official launch, offered the press an advance screening ahead of the series' free TV debut on August 8.

Cortesi, who rose to prominence as Miss Universe Philippines 2022, has remained in the public eye despite enduring one of the most talked-about heartbreaks in Philippine pageantry. While her beauty brand continued to grow and media coverage of her personal life persisted, the public had yet to hear her perspective—until now.

During a question-and-answer session following the screening, Cortesi explained that her pageant interviews were always scripted, making this series the first opportunity for audiences to see her authentic self and the events following her Miss Universe stint. She acknowledged the vulnerability involved in exposing this side of herself but emphasized the importance of showing a different, more personal dimension.

The eight-episode series, created by Daytime Emmy Award-winning producer Michael Carandang, follows Cortesi's transition from beauty queen to entrepreneur as she manages and expands her cosmetics line, Asul. It also documents her increasingly public relationship with partner Jonathan Sterling, offering viewers insight into a life she once guarded closely.

Cortesi revealed that the project began almost by chance. She and Sterling decided to film their lives after Miss Universe without a fixed plan, resulting in a natural and ongoing documentation of their journey. The series also captures their decision to start a family, a deeply personal choice Cortesi had not publicly discussed until recently. Joining Cortesi and Sterling onscreen are two close confidants: Benj, a longtime friend who supported her during the Miss Universe competition, and Marky, the first employee of Asul who has been integral to the brand's development. Benj expressed excitement about the ongoing filming process, uncertain of how the story will conclude, while Marky hoped viewers would take away lessons about kindness toward others and themselves.

When asked if the series serves as a reintroduction to a public that has sometimes misjudged her, Cortesi indicated she has reached a place of peace with her past and is ready to move forward. "Celeste Unscripted" premiered on August 8 on free TV and will have a worldwide release on August 15 via GMA Life TV.
