Eya Laure and Alyssa Solomon Lead Alas Pilipinas to Historic Silver at SEA V Cup Leg 2

MANILA, Philippines — Eya Laure and Alyssa Solomon stood out as key performers in the SEA V Cup Leg 2, guiding the Alas Pilipinas women's volleyball team to a historic silver medal finish, the country's best result since 2019. Laure earned her first international recognition as one of the tournament's Best Outside Hitters, while Solomon secured her third SEA V Cup Best Opposite Spiker award, marking back-to-back wins in 2026.

Solomon's performance was instrumental in the Philippines' victory over Indonesia in a thrilling five-set match at Chiang Mai Stadium, Thailand. She scored 19 points, helping the team secure a 25-13, 23-25, 25-19, 33-31 win, contributing to two wins out of three matches on the final day. This achievement added to her previous awards, including her initial SEA V Cup honor in 2023.

Laure emerged as the leading scorer for Alas Pilipinas, averaging 14.7 points across three games. She delivered her best performance with 22 points against Vietnam, a crucial win that ended the Philippines' seven-year losing streak to the defending champions. Laure also contributed 17 points in the match against Indonesia, showcasing her consistency and offensive prowess.

Joining Laure and Solomon on the Mythical Team was Sasipaporn Janthawisut of Thailand, who was named Leg 2 MVP and Best Outside Spiker. Janthawisut led Thailand to sweep the Leg 2 tournament and reclaim the SEA V Cup title from Vietnam. Other Thai players recognized included Pornpun Guedpard as Best Setter and Thatdao Nuekjang as Best Middle Blocker.

Vietnam's Tran Thi Bich Thuy earned the other Best Middle Blocker award, while Indonesia's Indah Guretno Dwi Margiani was named Best Libero. These individual accolades highlighted the competitive level of the tournament and the presence of top talent across Southeast Asia.
