Korean Yerin Lee Dominates to Win Second Consecutive Girls’ Singles Title at Hilado J60 Tennis Championship

Korean top seed Yerin Lee showcased her exceptional tennis skills by defeating local favorite Stefi Marithe Aludo, 6-3, 6-1, to claim the girls' singles title at the Oscar J. Hilado J60 World Tennis Championship Week 2 held at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center in Manila. This victory marks Lee’s second consecutive singles title in the tournament, having also won the first leg last week.

The 14-year-old Lee expressed satisfaction with her performance, noting that this was her first tournament in the Philippines and she was pleased to secure her second singles crown. Earlier in the competition, Lee had already demonstrated her dominance by defeating Aludo 6-3, 6-0 in the opening round, setting the tone for her eventual championship run.

In the boys' singles division, Chinese No. 2 seed Jian Huang captured the title by overpowering Indian No. 4 seed Yashwin Dahiya with a 6-3, 6-0 victory. The tournament offers World Tennis points, formerly known as International Tennis Federation points, which are crucial for young players aiming to improve their international rankings.

The doubles events also featured intense competition. Lee teamed up with compatriot Seojin Park to defeat the Filipino-Indonesian pair of Jana Jelena Nicole Diaz and Assyifa Khansa Putri Raga, 6-2, 7-6 (2). This win set up a final showdown against the Filipino duo of Stefi Marithe Aludo and Louraine Jallorina, who secured their spot by overcoming Indonesian Gwen Emily Kurniawan, 6-4, 6-3.

In the boys' doubles final, Yashwin Dahiya and Jian Huang are scheduled to face the second seeds Weibo Huang and Bing-Huan Tsai from Chinese Taipei, promising a competitive conclusion to the doubles events.

The Oscar J. Hilado J60 World Tennis Championship is now in its 18th edition and has been renamed to honor the late PHINMA Corporation Chairman Emeritus Oscar J. Hilado. This change recognizes his lifelong dedication and contributions to the development of Philippine tennis.
