PBA Moves Tuesday Games to Ynares Center After Roof Leak at Ninoy Aquino Stadium

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) announced on Sunday that Tuesday’s scheduled doubleheader would be relocated from Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila to the Ynares Center in Antipolo due to roof leaks at the Manila venue. The decision affects the first game between Converge and Terrafirma, as well as the nightcap featuring NLEX and TNT.

The roof leak at Ninoy Aquino Stadium was first noticed during the Governors’ Cup doubleheader last Friday, specifically as Magnolia and Meralco were about to start the fourth quarter. The issue caused a delay of nearly an hour before the game resumed, with Magnolia eventually securing a 105-88 victory.

This incident follows the postponement of Sunday’s doubleheader at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, which was set to feature Rain or Shine against Phoenix and Barangay Ginebra versus Blackwater. Those games were postponed due to severe weather conditions brought by the southwest monsoon, locally known as the “habagat.”

Ninoy Aquino Stadium, a government-owned facility, has been a regular venue for the PBA since 2024, hosting elimination rounds and select playoff games. However, the recent roof leak has raised concerns about its suitability for upcoming matches, prompting the league to shift games to alternative venues.

Ynares Center in Antipolo, located in Rizal province, is also a regular PBA venue and has hosted several Finals games in recent seasons.
