Team Alamat Edges Team Pamana in Nostalgic League Classic Klasik Rivals Showmatch

MANILA, Philippines – Team Alamat secured a 2-1 victory over Team Pamana in the Klasik Rivals showmatch for League Classic held on August 8, showcasing a blend of nostalgia and competitive spirit on the early version of Summoner’s Rift. The match highlighted the players’ deep familiarity and experience with the classic League of Legends gameplay, as both teams leveraged their mastery of the older mechanics and champion kits.

Team Alamat featured Exosen alongside Rumble Royale CEO and his wife, Suzzane Ezra Irasga-Gubatan, content creators Jillian ‘Jillipuff’ Santos, Kitz Cua, and Kapitan Pugo. Team Pamana was represented by the VeeWise duo Johnmar ‘OhMyV33nus’ Villaluna and Danerie James ‘Wise’ del Rosario, Raemon ‘Razzie Binx’ Bingcang, voice actress and esports figure Rikki ‘Riku’ Quiapon, and Team Secret’s Leomiho.

The first game was a tightly contested battle with both teams’ junglers actively securing takedowns across the map. Many recounted their early experiences playing League of Legends in computer shops, a common setting that fostered community and competition. OhMyV33nus recalled starting in Season 3 and traveling significant distances, including from Antipolo to Cavite, to participate in weekly tournaments, reaching a Challenger rank near the top six or seven.

Similarly, Riku shared how she used to commute an hour to a specific computer shop to play with friends, emphasizing the unique camaraderie of playing League in such social environments.

The players also reflected on the inspirations behind their gaming careers. Wise, a former professional player, cited North American midlane legend Søren ‘Bjergsen’ Bjerg as his role model, explaining that his original in-game name, Djergsen, was a tribute to the pro player. Leomiho mentioned streamer Tyler ‘Tyler1’ Steinkamp as a key influence in shaping his streaming persona, recalling the surreal experience of collaborating with Tyler1.
