The Boyz to Continue Group Activities as Nine-Member Act Under New Label Structure

The Boyz announced on August 6 that they will continue their group activities as a nine-member act following the signing of a new group contract and preparations for promotion under a newly established label. The members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric have agreed to continue promoting as The Boyz, while member New is not included in this new group agreement.

This development follows a significant dispute earlier this year, when the nine members, excluding New, notified their agency One Hundred Label in February of their decision to terminate their exclusive contracts. The members cited unpaid earnings and an irreparable breakdown of trust as the reasons for ending their contracts, which led to ongoing legal proceedings between the group and the agency.

On April 23, a court granted an injunction suspending the validity of the members’ exclusive contracts with One Hundred Label. This ruling allowed the members to pursue activities independently while the legal dispute remains unresolved, providing them with the freedom to manage their careers outside the agency’s control.

The Boyz emphasized that securing the future of the group was their top priority before finalizing individual contracts with separate management companies. They expressed a desire to reassure their fans, known as The B, who had endured months of uncertainty regarding the group's status.

Under the new arrangement, each member will pursue solo activities through different management companies tailored to their individual career paths. Despite this, the members committed to working closely together to ensure that The Boyz’s group activities continue through strong cooperation.

In a press release, the members stated that their determination to continue as nine members has remained steadfast from the beginning. They expressed their wish to share this decision first with their fandom, acknowledging the fans’ concern and support during the period of uncertainty.

The group also pledged to continue striving in their individual careers while simultaneously working hard to create more memories together as The Boyz. They extended sincere gratitude to The B for their unwavering love and support throughout the challenges they faced.
