Reflecting on Pastore’s character, McGowan described him as a loyal client who was generous and charitable, always willing to help others, a trait McGowan noted as rare in the entertainment business.

Robert Attermann, who represented Pastore for over 30 years, emphasized that while Pastore will be remembered for his iconic role as “Big Pussy,” he was much more than that. In an email to the Associated Press, Attermann described Pastore as one of the kindest and most generous people he had ever known. He highlighted Pastore’s warmth and respect toward everyone, noting that he never refused a fan’s request for a photograph or autograph and genuinely appreciated those who supported him.

Attermann also spoke about Pastore’s passion for acting and his dedication to the craft. He recalled how Pastore consistently encouraged young actors, taking time to offer guidance and support whenever possible. This mentorship was an important part of Pastore’s legacy beyond his on-screen performances.

Michael Imperioli, a longtime friend and collaborator of Pastore’s, shared his condolences on Instagram, expressing a sense of lifelong friendship. Imperioli recounted their extensive work together, including travels across the United States, Italy, and Australia. He described Pastore as a kind-hearted brother who deeply cared for his family and friends and said he would miss him always.

Pastore’s acting career included roles in notable films dating back to the 1980s, such as “Goodfellas” and “Awakenings,” both released in 1990. He frequently portrayed gangster characters, a niche that culminated in his memorable 30-episode portrayal of Bonpensiero, Tony Soprano’s friend who ultimately becomes an FBI informant on “The Sopranos.”
